It includes the Bank’s latest assessments on the direction of the economy going forward. The Bulletin also provides insights on current economic and financial issues, including highlights of policy initiatives undertaken by Bank Negara Malaysia in pursuit of its mandates. |

Key Highlights for 2Q 2026
- Stronger GDP growth of 6% (1Q 2026: 5.4%)
- Headline inflation rose to 1.9% (1Q 2026: 1.6%)
- Labour market conditions remained favourable
- The ringgit remained broadly stable against currencies of major trading partners during the quarter
Note: As part of BNM’s efforts to enhance its communication on financial stability matters, Tables 7 and 8 of the Quarterly Bulletin Annex have been expanded to include a wider range of key financial soundness indicators.
